And now Microsoft poaches again in an area that was previously occupied by Logitech top dogs, and the purchase is done!
Besides the fact that I should lie almost double for a similar Logitech webcam, persuade some other issues this new notebook Webcam:
Not only is the video quality via USB2.0 amazingly well, the photo function is convincing and is still well above cell phone level.
The integration especially in the Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger) is excellently managed, but also with other messengers such as Skype, the NX6000 is working properly and in brilliant quality together.
The built-in microphone can replace a headset in quiet environments, but you should think about these additional investment yet. Especially with an imaginary's Notebook Webcam for an integrated micro is likely to be regarded as an emergency solution.
Speaking Notebook: The webcam is actually collapsible and fits with their short but absolutely adequate capacity for notebooks USB cable into the wonderful quality, included carrying bag for notebook case (!). Overall, the webcam seems to very high quality and even provides an illuminated during operation Microsoft logo, a nice touch! The caked-holder is flexible within limits and should fit on even the most thick notebook lid. For desktop use, for example, on the TFT is however strongly advise to "brother" VX6000.
The installation should not be done by an enclosed CD, but with the most current version of LifeCam (currently 1.30), based on Microsoft's servers for Windows XP and Vista (both 32 and 64bit) is ready. With more than 100MB a thick package, but thanks to the integration of some Windows updates to get over yet.
4/5 stars because nearly 80 are still no real bargain, but must be described in view of the offered almost as appropriate. Recommended!
