This is actually a simple aluminum profile with a cover sheet at the back, in the front a cover sheet with the circuit including a chip AS Media. I put a Samsung SSD 830 in, unscrewing the two cover screws before you plug above the SSD is inserted all in the profile and screwed back. Recognized carefree under Win7 / 64 and this carbide, I have not made Benchmark but we do not feel the difference with a SATA3 SSD plugged in on the motherboard. A blue loupiote indicates when the disk is on or working.
The USB 3.0 cable is big but all are because the USB 3.0 specification includes power capacity (Watts) far superior to USB 2.0 for devices, this probably explains that. Besides, we no longer enquiquine with a second USB port on the USB Y-cable box to add the current like my old USB 2.0 enclosure, in fact it did not always work connected with one outlet. The connector is soldered onto the small circuit without reinforcements as in mobile phones, do not worry if handled with care and that if one prevents the connector cable makes big lever.
In the box also: a magnetic Phillips screwdriver and a faux cover and documentation
I feel that the case could be finer, my SSD fleet in, finishing is arbitrary, but for the price and performance, go for it!
