I was in search of an ever-top lens for my Canon 500D and wanted to replace my kit lens 18-55 IS, criteria were: better image quality than the KIT Wide also zoom, brightness, shutter continuously! I stood between: Canon 17-55 2.8 USM - 850 Euro, Sigma 17-50 2.8 HSM - 600 Euro Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC - 360 Euro Bought I caught the cheapest Tamron lens and unfortunately a Monday edition, in the first test photos I've found in this lens had very pronounced front focus and more than half of the images were blurred, as if a motion blur in the picture was, although VC was on, time no longer than 1/200 ... But if a photo was sharp, then really sharp, much sharper than my Canon 18-55 IS, so I decided not to return the lens, but let adjust (without camera )! After more than 2 weeks, I have the objective to get back, front focus has been corrected but unfortunately the problem with the uncertainty was still there! Then I spoke directly with Tamron and this time should I send the lens directly to Tamron rather than at Saturn give it! And I should also send as many test photos to a CD, and but a detalisierte error description, camera I should not enclose! After 3 weeks, the objective was back, adjusted, controlled and image stabilizer has been completely replaced, since I am very satisfied with the Tamron, in terms of image quality, clearly at 2.8, it is not as sharp, but Bright and from 4.0 are the photos Knack-Sharp!
Positives: + Price + Good workmanship, is very stable and of high quality + Luminous intensity + Continuous shutter (lightning unleashed much manually, Connecting panel is very convenient) + Fairly small Nähdistanzgrenze, almost Macro Capable! + Good image quality, even at 2.8 I am more than satisfied, but if dim possibility, then I'm doing this, so only increases the picture quality! + Geli is + 5 years warranty
Negatives: -very slow autofocus (for sports, children and wedding photography, I would not recommend this lens) -Very Loud autofocus, but even quieter than Tamron 17-50 Non VC -Ziemlich Difficult (after 2-3 hours Shooing, you realize the weight very) -Bildstabilisator Very loud (you get used to quickly turn, now I see no longer if it works)
Star deduction: 1 star for the 4 negative things 2 star for service from Tamron, I waited total of almost 6 weeks until the lens has been repaired and I wonder why have not been tested and image stabilization at the 1st time!
So my bottom line, who looks for a low-cost and Fast aperture is well served in any case with Tamron, but he must also take the negative things into account and that there should also be possibly adjusted or repaired, although the lens is new, unfortunately, is that so at Tamron!
