I have long been a fan of AKG (401, 501 now 701) and have always felt the high level of detail in playing the A and O. However happerte it at 401 and 501 clearly on the bass response. Not so with the K701. This now combined finally the transparent, accurate middle to treble with a pulse faithful, not mumpfigen bass in pop music (IWS) for printing willingly utilized the range of 40-70 Hz.
(I mix myself music from and could in this area with the other AKG headphones "almost nothing" to hear and had no chance to assess whether the mix has too much or too little deep bass. With the K701 you can hear now clear that " Thump "a bass drum or the rich-round sound from deep synthetic and electric basses. As a musician, I feel this play here as punchy-precise, neither too weak nor too strong. If I now the K501 use again, I am always surprised, how much sound actually was missing there and what I missed for many years.)
So then earned the K701 mE also the name "reference headphones". From electronic music to classical a true listening pleasure and for sound designers highly recommended!
