All in all, I like the Philips LED 40W very good, and I've bought many other years. I especially like the light color, a very critical point in LEDs. Energy consumption is low (6W) and the luminosity corresponds almost exactly to a 40 watt incandescent lamp, maybe even a bit brighter.

The only downer: In contrast to the big brother with 9.5 Watt (~ 60Watt) the brightness is not evenly distributed. Forward away from the socket no direct light is emitted, it appears as a dark spot. But the light is completely discharged at a 90 degree angle to the base well. This may also be desirable, you just have to know.
