I'll be honest with you, me and the OHP, network games etc. it is not so much friends! Yes, that kind of thing does not tempt me at all, and at first the book was not inspired in me. Then I saw the big blow of heart of my friend Geraldine (Mirrorcle World) and I said, "Go, tent, you'll see next. ". And you know what? I certainly do not regret having read it, really! If I could have two days off at that point, I think I would not have stopped me to read, I was so taken in history!
A new game, named "Sword Art Online" comes to see the day, and thousands of players have rushed into stores to acquire it. The game begins, and therefore their life has never been in as much danger at that moment. The creator of the game decided to set its own rules, the first of which is unambiguous: the game will now be their "real" life and as long as they have not reached the level of 100, none of the players will have the opportunity to leave and find his relatives. A massive blow for those players who thought they could play a few hours latter, and there, but mostly relax while playing.
Kirito part thereof. Independent, lonely, he wants only one thing: to achieve this famous hundredth floor, only to beat the big boss and the one who holds the prisoner of a role play. This is not counting on Asuna, a girl equally motivated, which wants to team up with him. So here he is in this life-size board game, where death is the last option. For if a player during his party dies, his body retained by a helmet can not remove, also dies.
I was embedded in this book from the first pages, if not the first lines. I think the fact that the narrator is Kirito really helped me to immerse myself in this novel. Although I'm not attracted to role play, this book has, in some ways, reconciled with them (I do not say that I will, but you understand what I ' I meant). The descriptions are such that I really feel like it, to be a character who lives this adventure both nightmarish but also exciting. In fact, when I read it, the world around me disappeared, and I could hear almost every noise we had Kirito. It's a weird feeling, but also very nice. This is proof that, for me, the author has really achieved its goal, to make both a real game, but also the novel.
To tell you to the point that the book haunted me when I had to stop to go to work, I was disappointed and upset to leave this world, and the book haunted me all day. No, it is not a heart stroke, but he greatly closer!
I particularly loved the relationship between Kirito and Asuna. If at first it was a solitary personality, he will have to change in contact with the girl. It will quickly review its priorities and friendship that develops between the two is really beautiful. I was not expecting one thing is that they admit that there was more that this relationship, it was much stronger than that. Even if one knows that Asuna through words and thoughts of Kirito, it attaches quickly to it. Sweet and desperate to those she loves, she may as well be fierce with their enemies and have no regrets killing.
And contrary to what I thought, I also liked the news that are based on the novel (about 250 pages). Just as role plays, I and the new are not friends. I was always very difficult to understand and attach myself to the characters, because it is much too short for me. But here, it was just the opposite. Sometimes in the third person singular, sometimes at first, I was directly attached to the characters that we followed, all of which have something in common: Kirito. It allowed me to better know and tie me even more to him.
Again, color and black and white illustrations in the book and bring the sublime something more reading, which I enjoyed. The author's pen is very compelling, and as I said earlier, I really had a hard time leaving the book. If I could hibernate two full days, believe me, I would have done!
In summary, a first volume which I completely conquered. A world of games very well done roles filled plot twists and secrets. Very endearing, as the secondary key. I already feel the lack of the characters and the universe, although it's only been a few hours since I finished. This will tell you how much I loved this book! In fact, with this book, one is in constant suspense and is afraid of everything that can happen. I found myself repeatedly to catch my breath. Yes, that with this book, you do not have a moment's respite, which is really great! And of course, I'll be there for Volume 2 and for the future! Highly July! I recommend this book to everyone, even to those who, like me, do not like the role playing, because you might be surprised to get addicted to this series!
