Very convenient diagnostic / not for any notebook

As I still had lying around two recently deceased notebooks, I ordered this diagnostic card for little money. Amazing was the fast delivery, because after 8 days, the mission was in my mailbox. Maybe not perfectly packaged in bubble envelope, but arrived safely.

The card makes a very good impression and is soldered clean. It can be used in slots of types Mini PCI or Mini PCI-E (Express). The third connection option, a LPC pin connector on the small menu is available. With proper cable, you can connect so directly to LPC debug ports on different motherboards. Such a cable is not in and this is also no point of criticism in the madness price of under 5 incl. Shipping from China represent.

Unfortunately, I had at my "corpses" (still) no luck in the diagnosis. One simply turns completely dead (no CLK signal, not a post code) and the other the CLK-LED and the POST code 00 flashes is displayed. POST codes for Award- and AMI BIOS are attached. According to supplement the diagnostic card will only work if the device manufacturer also additional LPC signals are fed to the connection slot in the PCI / PCI-E port. This is obviously not the case for all devices. Furthermore, some LPC interface chips are listed with the PIN numbers, where you can tap the required signals to 7 but still allow a diagnosis in the addendum to this map. For this I lacked nocht the time, maybe I complete the review later.

Four stars are there for the card, because not with matching slot a diagnosis is possible in every device. This has not been shown in the item description.
