At the toe and heel of the shoe are robust outside areas attached (in the picture dark gray), which protect against stones or other things. The ankle (with whom I often have when buying shoes problems), do not hit on the side, which is just right cut and padded (for my feet). The wearing comfort even after hours of long walks can not by and by the fact that the shoe is really fucking easy, the feet will not get tired as quickly.
All in all a great shoe for walking, hiking and in everyday life. For long walks with a lot of luggage (with me 10-12 kilos) is the shoe, depending on the terrain also useful but only limited recommendable (climb and for alpine terrain, the sole is clearly too soft).
