I do not use the claw to support because it is not secure and the flash could slip.
I might see a Cactus V5 on the threaded portion which provides a perfect support.
The hinged part is highly resistant aluminum and is notched to prevent slippage.
It is an umbrella attachment can summary as it is a screw which bears directly on the mat of the umbrella and can damage it. (System for improvement)
