I use hoo too Hub 3 USB port for one week
At first contact, the hootoo is aesthetic. The aluminum finish and white are the most beautiful effect. A small green LED lights in the upper part when connecting the hub to the PC. It is relatively small and very light (
Functionally, the present hoo too:
* A cable about 40 cm long
* 3 USB 3.0 ports,
* A network port, very convenient when you do not have a base / docking station for laptops. Indeed, in a USB connection, it is set, all connected. The tongue networks cables no longer break! Note: the network port shows as all network cards, 2 diodes (connected and active).
Functionally, when you use it in the computer, it appears as a CD containing drivers for the device. I launched the installation, but it has not worked. So I made the installation of the driver from the CD (as in Windows, there is all the drivers on the CD of XP to 8).
The last installation, the hub works perfectly. I did not notice any difference in writing with USB ports on the computer. With slow hard drive (5400 rev / min), I do not show transfers performence, but they are identical on the motherboard ports or via the hub (tested with external HDD in 3.0 verbatim).
At the network card, performance is identical to the one built into my PC, it is not the limiting element to it (my PC 7 indicates that it is a USB card Realtek GBE family controller ).
Not using wake on lan function, I can not comment on that.
The cables adhere very well to the USB port, the adjustment is correct between the USB port and aluminum chassis around.
In conclusion, a great product, very useful and functional and also aesthetic!
