Can not understand the bad reviews. That time one or the other device is defective can happen, even in such a small USB hub - and even with a manufacturer like Lindy.
Mine is in top order. It was without hesitation recognized and installed by my notebook with Win7 and I could quite connect and use more mass storage such as USB sticks and eBook reader.
It is compact and easy to handle and very good on the go. I am very happy with it.
