When I saw the pictures on my return to our (! Very good) Sony Full HD looked at me 32 "TV, I was really excited and could not believe it Such a picture or recording quality, I was out of my EOS 550D usual -. But that the S200 is performing very well, was a surprise. I would even say that in most environments, the S200 provides a virtually evenly matched quality. (Here I must mention that I have pleasure in beautiful and well-made pictures, but it is not a science do!) The colors are pure and even with a size of 32 "razor sharp. Because of the sophisticated electronics the S200 delivers even at higher ISO values, clear images with natural, vivid colors. The night shots are very good - even at ISO auto, but even more so in default of ISO 800 for example, and then verwacklungsfreier placement of the camera.
The handling is simple, adjustment and equipment leave nothing to be desired. For example, there semi automatics (aperture or shutter speed preselect), the aspect ratio can be selected (eg 16: 9 - ideal if you Photos viewed primarily on TV), there is an HDMI output and the image display can be zoomed. The menu display is context sensitive, so you are very quickly in the right place. Adjustments such as the ISO value, are made in a matter of seconds.
With its small dimensions (26 mm depth) and just 182 grams making it a true always with camera and due to its rounded corners and edges it interferes not even in your pocket. At this point I have to get rid of something: What some describe as always with camera and even declared fit your pocket, is very questionable. The much vaunted (and much more expensive) Sony RX100 may in one way or another make the situation slightly better image and offer more creative options, but it is (in the latest version) to 60% thicker and heavier! I want to anyway - especially light clothing in the summer months - do not wear an edgy, thick about 4 cm and about 300 g heavy metal block "the man"! Each compact camera is a compromise between compactness and power and everyone should think twice before buying, what is important to him and not only pay attention to one side of the power!
Always with a camera must of course also be robust. Here my S200 has quite a bit tucked away. Be it wet (shooting in snow flurries, operate it with wet hands, condensation) or the free fall out of his hand on the stone floor!
Conclusion: The S200 is true - in addition to the relatively low price - the ratio of performance and compactness! A real "Always with you" just.
