I can not agree with previous negative comments. I bought after much back and here the Buffalo LS-WX, because I wanted a NAS that supports RAID 1 and this is fast (about 7-8 MB / sec. = Aussreichend for me, cheap create only 2-3 MB / sec.) to access from several PCs to my data of all kinds can. It was important for me to be able to issue authorizations. So my family has for instance read access to music files, but can not change it. My personal data is locked for others. Furthermore, it should be power efficient. By automatically boot and shutdown the LinkStation to the PC, this is possible without problems with WinXP + software. Measured power consumption in standby 5 watts and 22 watts in operation. All my aforementioned conditions can meet the device sore expect. It is user-friendly, easy to configure and easy to adapt to individual needs. If you want to use it just as a normal network storage, you have to it only with the software initialieren (duration 20 seconds) and you can use it immediately. Basically, the device is highly recommended. For my purposes I've not found negative.
