I use the holder for a race seat with an installed PS3. The holder sits on the base plate on which also the steering wheel is bolted.

It is very important that you only rotate very carefully at the set screw to secure the VESA plate. I have unfortunately overexcited and can no longer adjust the resistance of the plate. But if I take then probably my fault ...

Otherwise, the holder is definitely recommended.
