Then I flirted with Fitbit Flex, Nike Fuelband SE and ultimately I decided: no.
I became aware that there was no tracker for reasonable money all that makes the time, what I would like:
- Relatively accurate measurement of my activities to find out if I should still do something physically at the end of day.
- Waterproof
- Sleep Tracking
- Comfortable to wear, even at night
- Any alarm, the best in lighter sleep phase
- Height detection and / or pulse measurement for accurate data
- EVT special functions by pairing with a mobile phone, for example ittt, call / SMS indicator etc.
- Support for Mac / iOS
The jack of all trades but did not exist. Especially not for about 100 euros - 150 euros. But even among the large number of Smart Watches as Pebble etc. Although there are some promising concepts on Indiegogo willing but ultimately will still take some time until they are published and marketability. Then on my birthday I got however the Polar Loop. And ultimately, I still look forward about it, because it comes to the above points but very close (see specifications).
Since I had obviously dealt me in the course of my research with the Loop, I already knew about its drawbacks, especially in the wake of the band adjustment, and the minimalist scope of manuals ... was Ultimately with me to set up Mac OS X Mavericks and iOS 7 (Flow / Beat app) no problem. On the Buzz vibration I will indeed have to do without, because the hardware is missing. But the interaction with the cell phone can be software-extended very far, if you are creative ...
My next Tracker I'll buy me safe only when there are those who dominate the real killer features. Until then, the loop is exactly what I did as an ambitious amateur athletes and Datenfetischist awaits me.
