Kotor 2 is certainly a very nice role-playing and you can each of the a) Role playing like b) Star Wars like c) action adventures like (RPG part is extensive but easy to use and in some cases even be automated) with little ifs and buts recommend as solid game. As a "solid" game, but not as the hit, which once was its predecessor. Gothic 2 was still miles better than Part 1, so was Deus Ex 2 is not even a shadow of its predecessor. Kotor 2 is located in the middle! In some interesting things, it is better than Part 1, but with 2 ends decide things it fails unfortunately, namely: a) Story and b) Accessibility Please do not misunderstand. In contrast to the "story" of Half Life, Dungeon Siege or other, this is still a masterpiece. But comparing a Rembrandt not with Picasso but with another Rembrandt! That's where failed Kotor. 2 The story is by leaps and bounds, sometimes the player has no idea why something happens. In the course of the game or no "weak" explanations are supplied and the end comes suddenly and abruptly. Unlike Part 1, in which there were many twists and turns, is in Kotor 2 of the first few minutes of clear who the main villain. The Sith Lords who are constantly mentioned as large in the story in the actual game flow almost no influence. The dark pupils will once encountered briefly and then defeated at the end of the game. The master-Sith Lord appears towards the end of the game, it quickly defeated in a ridiculous light combat and that's it. Not a single word is to hear from him. Why is he there? What he wants? Where does he come? Even its name is revealed only at the end! No comparison to Darth Malak, Revan, Bastilla and Co. from part. 1 The season seems a lot shorter than part one. The tension holds also not nearly as long at a high level as in Kotor. 1 The main problem of game development (the story) in Kotor 2 is simply that the player has no idea what is actually going on and trying to incorporate a little twist and surprise actually only leads to more confusion. The Jedi are in play suddenly somehow all insane, crazy or deceitful. Your character can still behave as good and be a master of the good side, it is treated by yet another Jedi like an evil Sith. The characters are all "funny". Bao-Dur, the technician who speaks in the whole game, no two words and is actually completely useless. There are fewer planets to visit than in part one and all acts artificially protracted by the player swings for example X-times between moon and planet back and forth. Or several times a world must visit. A wonderful example of the "opacity" of story and game is the famous Bounty: The Exchange, a crime syndicate has placed a bounty on Jedi. Therefore appear back on every world and again bounty hunters attack the player. Eventually you manage then to the headquarters of the Exchange, and all done .... that's it! No explanation why, by whom, no twist, nothing unexpected ... just "end" of the Bounty story. Suddenly no one knows what it, there has never been what, a Sith Lord appears briefly and on it goes to the next planet. One would wenigstenes a "backer" may introduce, which is responsible for the whole. So you have no idea who why why why when and where this bounty has exposed. The laser sword, the player earns relatively late, it can but then evolve quickly. But level 15 the player can specialize as a Jedi, too. ps .: Another absurdity: but although the player Jedi is that power, like any deodorant, so it runs all the time through the universe and tells all he was not a Jedi. And just when you finally gets going really, the story is relevant and you think you would have half of the game reached (as in Kotor 1), suddenly the Sith appear, be defeated by the player Rucki-Zucki, followed by a trip to another "planet" (asteroid?) on the then just amazing designs at once the end of the game takes place. The own supporters and allies are suddenly suddenly all gone, the opponents (of which one knew that he it is, from the very beginning) appears - is defeated and all that follows is your ship, the Ebon Hawk as a Type "galactic sunset" against flies. CONCLUSION: Of course, the story is a lot better than those from games like Dungeon Siege or Max Payne 2. However, in comparison with Kotor 1 it is only a shadow of their former selves. This is also a great Kanckpunkt, because the story was the supporting pillar of Kotor , The game time is noticeably shorter than in Part 1. Of advantage are the power and upgrade innovations. All in all, Kotor 2 is a fun and entertaining RPG that I can happily recommend. Everyone who does not know part 1 is, (if he RPG's ever like) certainly find much pleasure in it. The rest of the players who have already played Kotor 1 will certainly find their joy. However, you must be clear that Kotor 2 entitled "successor" does not deserve, but the title of "addon". Whoever it is considered as such will not be disappointed. Who really expected a full-fledged successor, who must therefore pay off the question "That's it?" or "That's all?" more often than he would like to ask.
