Very good but not what was expected

I ordered this cable after much research in shops and websites. I ordered it because it was black, apparently of good quality and cheap. When I received all perfect (quality, color, flexibility, length) except it was not a female-to-male cable, but a male-male with an adapter (male-female) in the bag. This works well but it takes a lot of space behind the unit and in my opinion we lose as seen to place the adapter. I have not had the courage to return the cable so I kept it but I am disappointed not to have received what I ordered. Luckily I almost never use the device connected to it.
