The HS50 really offers everything one can expect both a camera and a camcorder, you get two top devices for the price of one:
++ Good camcorder:
x camera settings automatically - it can only be selected, the film quality (Full HD, HD, standard etc.)
x händisches zoom, which allows you to zoom in very slowly and harmoniously.
x Connection for external stereo microphone (2.5 mm jack) ((HS30 has not)), whereby the built-in stereo Micro already excellently absorbs. Microphone Manual Modulation - without automatic
Caution: if you want to record movies in HD and Full HD and dubbing on the PC, you need high-speed plug-in cards.
++ Excellent camera:
x very good image quality already in EXR Auto Mode
x excellent Verwackelungsvermeidung (images are sharp even when less light and highest zoom out of hand)
x fast lens (from 2.8!) with a huge zoom range 24-1000 ((greater than HS30))
x rotatable and swiveling monitor ((HS30 has not))
x spirit level
x quick access to important settings Quick button
x good autofocus + possibility manual focus ((The adjustment is better positioned than HS30)). When manually setting the menu can be activated Extra that a cut is zoomed in while the setting so that you can focus more accurately (very helpful!).
x good feel and ease of use
x RAW included, where you can store images in RAW and JPG in the same time.
x and much, much more.
-: Is very annoying that Fuji ignored common standards both when connecting to the external flash and for the mini-USB. One is thus limited to the small selection of Fuji Speedlights. Particularly annoying: Fuji has its own mini-USB port sprout pad, the "distinguished" itself by two stupidities: the plug is very difficult recognizable, which way is up and which down - plugging is further complicated. The included PC connection cable is very short. (I have some longer mini-USB cables lying around - by older Fuji cameras -. I can not use because of the angry female self-creation)
The HS50 is difficult to some than the HS30 (probably because of the larger lens) - weight, it is in the range of SLRs.
For the demanding amateur photographer, who knows anything about cameras, it is the ideal bridge camera. She is me even better than the old analog SLR, since it has no objective change over a huge zoom range of 24-1000, and in consistently superb image quality. She has a lot of settings - (. Such as the spirit level) some extras must be activated in the menu. (An entry in the photograph could be overwhelmed them.)

Addendum: Fuji silent about the name of the USB port in the manual. After searching the internet is this USB port "Fujifilm RR-80A". For fits this adapter: "JJC Cable-K2O": converts Fujifilm RR-80 (eg HS30.) For use on Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR - but only for the remote control! (For the USB transfer cable to the PC, the adapter takes advantage of some unknown reason nothing - the camera is thus not recognized.)
