Among the things that should be considered when purchasing my opinion or some getting used to, include:
- The Kx is despite the compact dimensions compared to many competing models relatively heavy. If you're looking for a lightweight camera, you should definitely take the Kx times in the store in the hands and try.
- The shutter sound is quite loud and sounds very mechanically. This can be a disadvantage in volatile, jumpy motifs, but each SLR gives a clearly audible shutter sound. The sound of a Canon or Nikon but somehow sounds fine and 'stylish'. But I think that Pentax has in the camera simply placed just no great importance to the sound design. When A850 from Sony the sound is similarly worded, and that is after all, a full-blown professional camera.
- The resistance for the shutter button halfway (to activate the AF and AE) is very low. But you get used to it.
- Pentax lenses, lenses from third-party and other accessories are usually a trace more expensive, than its major competitors and the variety of Pentax lenses is smaller than Nikon or Canon. However, Pentax lenses have a very good reputation and are the optics of other manufacturers in every way.
- The USB port on the camera is not a normal mini-USB port. A suitable cable is however included.
Who does not disturb these points, gets in my opinion with the Kx a very good camera at a reasonable price, at which he or she will last a lifetime.
