I bought this unit because the birth of my child. I needed to be able to make a large angle photo of a certain quality interiors without much light and without the flash ... and this device does very well. Also fairly intuitive handling with lots of preprogrammed options, the automatic mode works very well, and then, for experts, possibility to set a lot of things to his taste. If someone hesitates between a bridge and a compact like this: in my opinion, after seeing photos of some the XZ1 Bridges is easily up and in some cases surpasses, and all in less space. .. but it was not the zoom of a bridge.
Regarding the charger, the device comes with a USB cable and a USB power adapter so the ability to load via PC or a power outlet.
