+ Relatively large (basic) vocabulary (4000 expressions);
++ Very good pronunciation and speech reproduction of native speakers;
+ More than 100 categories and areas which are quite useful for the everyday life (in the hospital / doctor / the cinema / ...);
+ Simple and clearly arranged menu navigation;
+ + Good configuration options: an English word repeatedly auditioned succession + adjust the length of the pauses between the repetitions themselves;
+ Recording of English pronunciation in the simplified transcription, in which only German letters are used: for beginners quite useful;
++ When translating from German into English: The English word is not immediately visible, it is more or less covered. So you can be auditioned the translation only, and then press on "Show the translation," so you can see the spelling. Or: You can only show the notation and then audition the word.
+ Of course, a search function is available, which works quite well.
++ One can move vocabulary as favorites in "hiding". It is even possible to have multiple folders or "Hide" to put in favorites. This is handy if you want to assign, for example, a lot of words that can not be controlled, multiple folders.
- No correct spelling of umlauts in the Help-texts: for example R ~ 1 / 4ckkehr instead return;
- Many false concepts in the help files, such as "constellations" instead of settings;
but: correct spelling of words in the learning sites!
- Audition of native speakers is possible only in one direction, namely from German to English. Clicking in the other direction over an English word, the word is not auditioned.
Conclusion: In spite of these shortcomings: With this app, learning or repeating words makes quite fun. Especially the clear pronunciation of the native speaker, the setting items, the function "Show translation" and the ability to create multiple favorites folders, I like very much.
