Very good device with a few minor weaknesses

The good reviews and the reasonable price have made me decide to buy the LG 42UB820V. And I must say, the unit has been largely fulfilled my expectations quite high. The picture is brilliant and sharp crack, and even in the factory settings. This can, however, in the "expert settings" to improve. A manual has "Thomas M." posted on 05/12/2014. This I would now like to add to or to an adjusting guide for the sound that is not particularly exhilarating in the factory setting. I have the 5-band equalizer (accessible under Quick Menu -> Settings -> Sound Mode) is set as follows: 100 Hz: +10 dB, 300 Hz: + 4 dB, 1 kHz: -8 dB, 3 kHz: -7 dB , 10 kHz: -1 dB. The basses I have so greatly increased and greatly reduced the centers. The sound of the built-in speaker is thus significantly better, although it by no means comes close to the sound of an external AV system. For real cinema sound, one should connect the TV to a necessarily good AV system.

Bottom line makes the device on me so far a very good impression. The pluses outweigh significantly, as there would be:

Without any weaknesses the device is not, however, give the most can get over depending on the application, however:

- Response to key presses on the remote control is done with some delay
- Built-in loudspeakers and optical audio output are not active simultaneously, switching between them somewhat cumbersome

- Built only a WLAN antenna, therefore is only max. half the speed used by 802.11n (but sufficient)
- Recording to USB memory requires mandatory a USB hard drive, USB flash drives are not supported
- Recording format proprietary, that the recordings can be played only on the device itself, not on other devices or on the computer
- Only USB 2.0, power supply of external hard drives via USB therefore problematic

Elsewhere criticism was that apps for the media libraries of ARD and ZDF are missing. This is not a shortcoming, because you can reach the media libraries via the by the posting HbbTV menu. The stream playback quality via HbbTV is not quite as good as that of the transmitter itself (but this may be due to the streams itself and need not necessarily lie with the device), but acceptable.

Delivery by Amazon was very quick. The unit met already 2 days after the order (and one day earlier than announced) at me. Packaging and contents were completely undamaged.
