The router looks very modern and stylish, only the color or brightness of the LEDs is me personally a bit too pushy. Looks especially when it's dark like in a disco. Bin as previously used only to Fritz boxes but well, the router is not so in the bedroom.
The package includes in addition to the router itself a (rather short) LAN cable, AC adapter, the CD with the setup software and a short manual. It is available in several languages but only how to connect the device and then use the Setup CD. I would have personally requested a more detailed manual and a slightly longer LAN cable.
I've read through all the reviews here before ordering and therefore dispense with the use of the CD. Simply plugged the network cable, 192.168.1.1 entered in the browser and the default login is "admin" / "admin" is used. The menu was for me very intuitive (as I said had so far only experience with Fritz boxes) and has covered everything for my needs. The Internet connection has to reboot the modem also works immediately. Have directly made a trouble-free firmware update, even if it would have been probably not necessary (2.1.01 was installed, the net there was 2.1.02, but includes loud Changelog "only" a compatibility update).
The Wi-Fi was quickly set up, I can, however, nothing to transmit power / say quality because my PC is connected via LAN. My friend used the Wi-Fi on your laptop, has so far not yet at least complained, so it seems to have been no disconnections.
Another design "deficiency" I then noticed when setting the administrative password. As I said, the user data is "admin" were standard / "admin", and there is only one field for the password, but not for the user name. When the box was opened and then wanted both items, I was first a bit perplexed and have found nothing on the Internet directly. It has then set out that you have to enter the password, username can be left blank. Would be nice if the solved differently (for example, display only the password field) or would have been noted. The latter would have been possible using an extensive manual. One can indeed download a proper manual in PDF format from the Cisco website, but to the "problem" is nothing in it. Besides, this is awkward achieved if trouble setting up and therefore (temporarily) has no Internet connection.
All in all a very nice and solid piece of equipment at a good price. The few "blemishes" that I have listed, are all not very significant and partly subjective.
