Could the SB600 directly to the Metz AF 44i compare to my D80. From the lighting are both good, but the pictures with the Nikon more balanced exposed. From the flash sequence both flash units are almost identical, the SB600 is minimally better. Is very good, the pan, the SB600 in all directions and can be tilted. This option does not offer the Metz, only tiltable. The display of the Nikon is much clearer, lit and it offers more settings than Metz. Other major advantages: 1.Streuscheibe - so that the images are much softer and better illuminated. 2.Kabellos flash, as a slave flash allows the SB600 run paralell to internal or other plugged-in flash. For this purpose a safe stand is included. 3. A case is provided by find flash and stand space. A bag is not delivered on Metz.
Conclusion: More expensive much better than the Metz, however, in practice the individual swiveling and tilting angle of the flash unit. Qualitatively very well made with metal hotshoe and fixing lever is quick and easy to use. Is the extra cost worth it.
