This small dac is great for the price. I do not know what val most expensive product, but it fully meets my expectations.
My setup: Mac Pro 2008 under 10.6.8 + HD558 headphones seinnheizer
Good point:
- Immediately recognized by my old mac osx
- Its best on the mac, and especially (which is why I bought it) farewell small interference that I always had in headphone output when the processors are fully loaded!
- Small, self powered, it is discreet just under the handle of the mac. View its small size and its operation I think even take it on vacation and connect it to my MBP.
- Powerful, it really does take off the helmet.

Disadvantages:
- 3.5mm jack completely unsuitable for stereo headsets with 6.5mm jack. The adapter 3.5 -> 6.5 + the headphone jack is longer than the DAC, which the imbalance. Fortunately, making the flush façade, little to no problem gene without adapter housing.
- If using the line out, it will not cut if you plug the headphones! Think has cut the speaker kit plugged on to risk woke the whole house without noticing, as you; you have the helmet!
- USB cable average quality just not liking my DECT next. Problem solved replacing another cable with better shielding.
- Very light, there is little cause to be loaded by moving the headphone wire. I had to fix it with a scatch so it does not slip, despite his 6 small rubber feet.
