- Speed: The operating system works felt (with the AERO desktop) does not slow as my old XP (computer: Intel Core2 Duo 2.13GHz, 2GB RAM, 256 MB AGP graphics). Here MS has apparently upped their game to design Windows 7 to run on poor-equipped computers.
- Compatibility with older programs, before the purchase of Windows 7 I had the fear that many of my previously used programs no longer be able to use. These fears, however, have been shattered. Classic games like Diablo 2 or Civilization4 work well, such as WISO Mein Geld 2006 that I was able to put it into operation by installing the XP mode. But I want to stress that I use the 32 bit version of Windows 7 again.
- Compatibility with other hardware: With 32-bit very well - and here I was pleased to have decided on this Windows version because Canon scanner is currently for his Lide only 32-bit drivers. For me there was therefore no problem. Even my older PDA phone has been detected and automatically immediately installed the Windows Mobile Device Center (instead of the old MS ActiceSync program). Printer, mouse, monitor, etc. could also be installed without problems.
- Functionality: Moving from XP to the classic menu to the new Windows 7 is getting used to, but I realize after a few weeks of use, I very well can cope with the system and the service is always liquid.
- Optics: It is impressive that MS always finds new optical illusions to make Windows more attractive. Optics is a matter of taste, I find them succeeded.
- Criticism:
During installation of almost all programs, I noticed that these by Installation Manager in English program folder (userfiles, Common Files, etc.) are to be installed, but satisfy the German folders programs or shared files. This is highly confusing and reflects my opinion of problems with the implementation of the German-language version of Windows 7 or the Installer program parts.
Partially requires Windows 7 quite a lot of time when you shut down the computer. Here the user but a message, what it still raking receives, or what program needs to be shut down in order to terminate Windows can. This is quite nice and shortens the waiting time, which I would however like to do without.
The user administration is now (Increase) extensive that is, some programs must be executed in the administrator mode to use its full functionality can. This is very chaotic and sometimes very cumbersome.
Conclusion: I would buy Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit again at any time, because the switch from Windows XP Pro was easier and easier than we thought and the functionality and appearance have so far justified the move.
