||| First impression: |||
When unpacking me nothing is further noticed negative, the packaging is trimmed to a good optical, high-quality impression, but the headset also protects good for transport. Delicate parts such as the volume control with mute button for the microphone are specially packed again: I like that.
||| Connection and commissioning: |||
Postiver impression here: The actual cable to the control and mute button is relatively short, which is probably for laptops own will, thus not lying around 2 meters cable on the table. I run the headset to a big tower PC and therefore need a slightly longer cable because I put it over the left on the keyboard and but my PC is right under the table. Although I go to the cable through my cable channel extends the cable completely, the ideal length for desktop PC's. The places where the cable in micro and stereo signal divides valuable aspect.
The Clue: after the short cable is a long cable already attached as an extension, which can be removed if desired, however. So neither PC nor laptop users have no compromise with visible cables or short cables.
I run the headset to a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music; a slightly older but solid sound card. I am using a modified PAX driver so that the thing runs under Win7-64 bit. There were no problems when connecting, micro and audio transmission have now works well.
||| Behavior and impression in operation (Games, VoIP, movies, music): |||
First I tested the TeamSpeak such as the voice quality of the microphone is, as the reviews but very divergent. From noise to perfect quality and more. As a test person served me a friendly DJ on the one hand even an excellent headset operates to can judge voice quality and the other, confirmed to me that my voice much clearer than my old micro sounds and especially the highs are better transmitted. This is especially helpful in the game, because you also what the partner or teammates hear when you're under fire or explosion can be heard.
The micro can (which I personally like good) can if necessary completely disappear in the headset. The cable is in this case made of a metal tube with many segments, is still about a plastic sheath. So therefore acts very stable and secure. How does the whole effect in practical use in the long run I'll list every few months here, but I can well imagine that with a mechanism such as this, the mechanics in the long term can be very stressed and possibly up to cable breakage or loss of call quality can result.
This in my opinion, however, remains to be noted: The whole thing is designed so that you eg look for the dragons in the film or listen to music when you are not really in Skype or TeamSpeak, the micro-enters and rumfummelt not every 5 minutes by the cable and it purely and goes out. Who naturally raped in hectic fashion the cable several times per hour need not be surprised if defects occur within the warranty period. Evaluate the product then also bad (although you are in the warranty period) eludes my return policy.
||| Games: |||
Battlefield 3 has been tested with a sound card (see above) and the following game settings: Wartapes, Extended Stereo mode: OFF! Very important. Sound card settings: height filter MacroFX: Auto. Crystalizer: Recommended. Bass Boost: Enabled
The sound comes over here very nice, the press arms right with every shot, explosions or tank shots have good bass, but not overdone. One höhrt in the building when someone ranschleicht from behind. In the battle is indeed more difficult to hear but with some training still possible. Definitely an advantage in nearly every ordinary multiplayer shooter. Of course, and you should, depending on the sound card to try different settings. Who another card or the same as I used with other settings is to simply try around until it is a good listening experience is.
Note: Any person operating the headset to an onboard soundcard, much loses in this headset. I once made the comparison in Battlefield 3 and acts all belchern little and weak. Weapons sound without damping very weak. The lead many on the headset (and in many forums to read): Of course one must not expect miracles. In Headset is not a sound chip or an AV Receiver. Who wants rausholen much from NEM headset needs ne reasonable soundcard point. No Discussion.
||| VoIP: |||
As mentioned above, the transmission in Teamspeak / Skype is very good. However, I run the micro course of my soundcard. To what extent the Board chip deviates you have to test yourself.
With good chip quality is good to very good in any case. It will not transmit ambient sounds (with my settings) and noise also does not come with. Beautiful clear sound.
There is the use of micro-mute button on the headset cable is no feedback in TeamSpeak. I had many headsets and testifies here of good quality.
||| Music and Movies: |||
I suppose this category together times since but give a lot of parallels. First of all: Who is is absolutely audiophile and professional in the field of Audio & Video active, the is probably not enough if one home cinema systems is used as the headset. There is a stereo headset which allows you to rausholen much by upmixing methods of sound card, especially when tracking but also no wonder-what-1000 headset. I use (even if the film's soundtrack 5.1 allows) the stereo sound with corresponding sound card settings and you will not be disappointed. Movies listen to powerfully. Basses come there where they have come. Language is well understood and does not need to be readjusted.
Who uses SVM: I habs times tested briefly: No problem with this headset.
When listening to music I also find no significant criticism. Neither the easy check it out on Youtube yet when editing the database for tractor.
So much for Höhrerlebnis. Now follows:
||| Comfort: |||
I was mainly the comfort important because what good is the best headset if it expresses. First of all: how it looks separately at each person, of course, vary, so you have to enjoy those reviews with caution.
I have a relatively large head with large ears. Had thus already in mind because what could not fit. On the contrary: The ears are well enclosed and the elastic strap to the head form fits well to. Very pleasant feeling. No pressures and also the ears are not hot. I already had the complete many headsets.
If they are warm but not so that you get hot flashes.
I have the headset times subjected to the ultimate endurance test and played, then watched 3 movies and then another series and music. That must have been about 8 hours 4 hours at a time the headset on the head. No Problem! No bruises, no press, no heat generation.
But that of course depends on the head shape, so who is not sure whether it's because fit but would buy otherwise -> Buy-> Testen-> If it does not fit -> return / Otherwise -> Keep & Enjoy!
||| The good end a Résumé: |||
I find the headset very well because:
- Good sound without exaggerated bass, middle, treble! Good control of soundcards
- Good voice quality
- Good comfort! Suitable for professional gamers and power users
- Price is per what is offered absolutely fine! (One must of course also be seen in relation, many people expect for 60-80 parts made of stainless steel or simply no plastic, here you have to be real table and lead also in mind that such a product will be marketed)
- Workmanship is very good. No conspicuous odors or sharp edges!
