Those who have ordered this case several months ago, or years, look forward to the usual quality, however, a few things have changed:
- It was installed a new hardware revision, recognizable by the changed layout of the rear panel.
- The LED on the front of only one color (which I pity, but not bad find).
These are also already been all externally visible changes.
But be careful: as one reviewer has already described before me, it is in this case in conjunction with Western Digital WD20EARS hard drives significant connectivity issues: If one reads large files from the hard disk, the data stream stops repeatedly. This means that this case is not usable with this hard drive to external media players like Asus OPlay and Patriot Box Office or various media players, which are integrated into TV because film reproductions either extremely stutter or permanently cancel abruptly.
The problem here is in my opinion not the hard drive from Western Digital, since this record in other cases (eg Fantecs FB-35) and also on internal interfaces of computers functioning properly, but the controller of the housing.
I Sharkoon contacted regarding this issue and is currently awaiting response. I'll adjust the review here after receiving the response.
Until then, I must strongly advise against this case, if you just want it obstruct the mentioned WD-plate. In this case, for example, is Fantecs housing (and certainly also some others) which is currently better choice.
