I bought these spotlights to illuminate the interior of a shop window, without the worry of holes and wiring. They are pretty and very easy to assemble. In my opinion, they are not strong enough for task lighting, but are perfect in a cabinet, to illuminate a dark corner or in a closet. The unit comes with batteries already in place (just remove the tab). There are three options for mounting: magnets, hooks or Velcro (all provided). Velcro seems sturdy enough. It is important to ensure that the mounting surface is clean (I used alcohol to prepare). The light switches on or off at the touch. The idea is sound and well executed and very useful when you need a little light without son, but know that these spots provide a very low light.
