My first objective had very good sharpness and color reproduction - viiiel better than even good kit from Sony - unfortunately only in the middle. The edges also when stopping down to F = 8.0 were unacceptable blurred. (Much worse than in the kit) To trouble and super-fast withdrawal from Amazon, I have there the same a second Ordered. This lens was fairly evenly blurred, although in the corners much better than Sony. I suspect that I have the lens returned too quickly. Mir has not occurred him to test on the wrong focus. In the third lens to the sharpness tests I tested the defocus, and found significant backfocus. (At 15m approx 2-3m, at 50cm approx 3-4cm) If you set the focus manually, it is pure joy to einzuschauen the image. Even at full aperture, the image is in focus, from F = 3.5 very sharp. The colors are rich and have a somehow "smoother". I have spoken with Sigma service; Back focus can readjust easily, so this lens will stay with me. I just wonder what makes the quality control of Sigma? To sum up: + Hoche light intensity at all focal lengths + Small depth of field if desired + Very good sharpness actually already at full aperture + Very good color rendering + Front lens does not rotate during focusing - internal focusing (good at pole filter and lens hood) + Quiet and fast autofocus + Butter Soft zooming (zoom) + Quality design + For this quality - inexpensive Included + sunshade and storage bag
- Great series dispersion - Big change in zoom lens length (strong pumping) - Little road with manual focus adjustment - Weight (price for the large light intensity) Actually, for my copy I will gladly give more than four stars if I could get it as the first.
