Haptics / housing
o Is for me comfortably in your hand
o On the right button is easy to operate
o two-stage camera button with good pressure points
o USB port on the left (relatively above)
o headphone jack is at the top
o SD card and SIM card (micro-SIM format) can be inserted laterally
o thickness and weight are within the framework
o There is a notification LED on the top left above the display that can display a wide variety of events with different colors (almost limitless configurable via an additional app)
Display
o The resolution is for me good enough, I do not see any pixels and sharp is all.
o color, contrast and viewing angles are OK, though nothing compared to the abysmal black of Samsung.
o Brightness is ok, even in direct sunlight at least be perceived (though the automatic takes a moment to the boot brightness).
o The control buttons (home, back, and Task Manager) are only softkeys on the display and take (if not hidden) therefore storage space.
o The touch controls are fine.
Speed
o All well and smoothly, but I do not play, so can not comment.
o Even if multiple apps are active, no changes of speed are noticeable.
Call ...
... You can too! Reception is good to ev. Even very good (D network in the country)
o Communication is also ok, but could be louder
o ringtone could also be louder
Networks / connections
o Wireless internet is ok, the Fritz box announces 65 Mbit / s
o Automatic wireless connection (eg. as if one is at home again) works often do not, wireless is turned off in the settings. Reconnection and bonding is then manually but without any problems.
o Bluetooth - in my case, the car radio - is stable, automatic linking and displaying tags (title and artist) on AR thanks Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 work fine (AVRCP 1.3 or later is not supported by many manufacturers, so it should be stressed here !)
o GPS has a few seconds in the open position, indoors without WLAN support takes's a bit longer but generally still afloat (less than 30 seconds)
o Mobile data transmission is ok when H + or 3G are feasible; it falls even more on EDGE back as z. B. the S4 mini
o NFC and LTE I have not yet tested
Audio / Video
o Audio playback is rather average, both in terms of what quality and volume
o The main camera is - have often noticed how here - good but the app due to the automatic sharpening real garbage. There's only an alternative app. And you have to say it again: a mobile camera is not just digital cameras!
o The video, however, are okay.
o The front camera is total crap, both the resolution, sensitivity to light and the focus
Accumulator
o is permanently installed (!), with good endurance, 2 days with moderate use and if all energy saving measures are activated.
o If it is the right way used with WLAN surfing, listening to music, phone calls, ev. as Navi it cries at night for electricity
o On power supply was unfortunately saved, which provides only 850 mA.
Price-Performance
Recommended by Sony UK of 259 I think is too high; responsible for it's 208 to have here currently are perhaps appropriate; for the 179 that have been mentioned here and are up to date it is then but a great deal!
Supplement 09.09.2014
With or without photo app: the camera is and remains simply crap, focus, brightness and resolution can be adjusted only with so much effort halfway, the photo opportunities starve it. For video recording, the autofocus is indeed constantly active, but is rarely sharp.
Supplement 27.12.2014
The last match: slipped on Christmas Eve from his hand, probably more or less ended up unhappy with the result that despite Cover now a beautiful mesh pattern adorns the display. The touch function is not perfect, but unfortunately the cameras and the flash LED no longer function so that repair would be uneconomical. In retrospect, a shame because except for the bad camera a decent smartphone.
