To Monitor
==========
I operate the monitor with the highest resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels via DisplayPort connector. Connection via dual-link DVI is also possible, a suitable cable with acceptable quality is - but you should better invest for continuous operation in high-quality cable.
If you use good cable, the image quality is both via DisplayPort and DVI via also in the highest resolution very well. The picture is absolutely flicker, illumination and color quality over the entire screen equally well and even when dark image content that criticized by other users Backlight Bleeding at my copy does not exist.
I can not make any statements, because I do not use the screen for image processing, but purely for Office applications on the color fastness.
Choose a lower resolution than 2560 x 1440, then drops to a pleasantly that the monitor scales very well. Also "crooked" factors, such as occur in 1600 x 1200 (1.11111) bring no visible distortion or caused by pixel conversion podium. Inexplicably, not all resolutions on the maximum size are scaled up, some will remain on all four sides, an unused edge. This is not so nice, but in general you should monitor such a course anyway operate with the maximum resolution.
Special features of the monitor
=========================
The gimmicks like automatic brightness control and motion detection I once angetestet short, but not extensively investigated, since they do not seem to me to make sense. At my workplace there is a uniform lighting and turning off the monitor is via a screen saver, Energy-Saving Windows.
USB3.0 Hub
==========
Also a gimmick, to which I can do without. The included USB 3.0 cable is qualitatively very poor and ended up with me in the trash immediately. Even with a better cable work the USB hub with me with USB3.0 hard drives not really good and I use instead prefer a standalone USB3.0 hub. Connected via USB2.0 I run Webcam, label printer and scanner problems - anyway, I would prefer, Samsung would forego the built-stroke and give off the monitor for a few euros cheaper.
What is very handy is that the monitor logs on as a sound card via USB. While he has no built-in speakers, but a headphone output, to which you can connect powered speakers. I run the monitor to a notebook without docking station and spare me such a cable.
Overall I am very pleased with the monitor, processing and image quality are very good that you do not need from me gimmicks can be switched off, thank God.
Postscript
========
After about 3 months of operation, the monitor has gradually been acknowledged by the service. This was caused by a defect in the power supply, first sporadically, in the course of two weeks and more frequently then broke the output voltage together and recovered only after a few minutes.
Amazon itself does not repair or replacement, but immediately offered to take back the equipment against reimbursement. Alternatively, I can also accept the manufacturer warranty, what I tried first. Contact with Samsung was brief and inconclusive. Replacing only the power supply was not agreed to, instead I should return the instrument complete and at his own expense. Then I gratefully dispensed and returned the device on Amazon and ordered an identical new one. This works so far without problems with the quality I'm still very pleased with the quality of the support of Samsung, however not at all.
