- The registration of the unit at Becker and activate the map updates must be made within 30 days from Erstnavigation. After this period, no longer does that and you lose the ability of future map updates. - It is absolutely necessary (unfortunately is not in the manual), the Navi before the first connection to the PC several kilometers to navigation to use (= Erstnavigation), since it apparently is in a Demo mode from initial purchase. - If required, you should also insert a memory card, the device is installed flawlessly when connected to the PC. - Connection to a PC (in my case: Win 7/64 bit) using the supplied USB cable. The PC must be connected to the Internet. - The navigation system should be immediately recognized and automatically made to install the drivers and then appear in the Explorer as a drive. - My recommendation at this point: The original data on the navigation safety's sake (also) on the Win-Explorer secure (eg to external hard disk, USB stick). - Now install Content Manager in the capacity of (PC) Administrator from the device to the PC's hard drive. - Perform update the Content Manager to the current version (suggested by the software immediately after installation). - Then follow the instructions (setting up a user account with user name and password, confirmation of a verification e-mail and so on). - Make the Navi Update Device Software (automatically proposes via the Content Manager) and agree with the measures proposed by the software assurance. Securing a folder proposed by Content Manager took me about 6 minutes (volume approx 2.4 GB). - Then disconnect the PC Navi, turn navigation software of Navis, check if everything goes off Navi again. On PC: close Content Manager. - Restart both the Content Manager on the PC as well as the Navis. Restore the connection between the Internet-connected PC and the Navi. - Purchase of the LMU: Of course, no additional purchase is more, since the (Navi) lifetime map update already was part of the equipment purchase price. Enable via the Content Manager, the lifetime map update, download and automatically install. At the end came the message that map update and installation were successful in the Navi.
