I was looking for a receiver, which replaces the sound and the handling of my antikquirten unit and he does brilliantly. I use it mainly as a stereo receiver to watch the TV sound as well as Internet radio.
The facility went into my eyes quickly. A calibration with the included micro I've saved me, because there is not really much calibrate with me. Two tower speaker and you're done. However, there is the possibility to be multi-channel system calibration accurately. About the Receiver running my Sky receiver, XBOX 360 and my LG Blu-ray player. Connected this is all on a 55-inch LG UHD TV.
An important selling point for me was the Internet radio. Unlike other opinions, which are the Bedieunung awkward, I find the handling really good and easy. It is used the vTuner. If the TV is turned on, you can find an on-screen menu, the correct channel. Sorted by genre, country or top stations. If the TV is not switched on you can find all relevant information in Dipslay of Yamaha. While it is not huge in size but I recognize from the bed (about 3 meters) I need to find the right channels to find everything. The connection to the server has not yet been terminated with me (connected via LAN) and runs fast and stable. An optional WLAN dongle I have not tested.
One can feel safe not call audiophile, but what comes out of the speakers is great. Clear understandable (especially the voice reproduction is a huge advance over the TV) and clear at all times.
All input signals are looped through super and it is for me no lag evident. A test on the BlueRay player with a Kozert of Pink was great. Due to the large TV and the very great sound you have to be had to feel right in the middle. Also the sound of Tommorowland-after-movie was great. You have to restrain himself, not to annoy his neighbors ;-)
Yamaha has hinbekommen a very good app to control the receiver. All functions can be regulated here. the normal remote control is with me in the drawer. I do everything on the app.
One point deduction there anyway. I did not hammer out sensible to configure the ARC. Either I'm too stupid or my TV and Yamaha may not be easy. The device works eingentlich easily but with me refused the Yamaha sound reproduction. I therefore switched to a TOS link cable and thus now completely satisfied. There will certainly be people who see this as reason for return. For me it is not so. All other functions absolutely convince me and I get the sound through the Lautpsrecher out yes. While not via HDMI but TOS-Link does in my eyes very well.
I can About the performance at the limit not say anything because I am in the most volume retention (must) Moreover my speakers are not likely to bring the receiver into power limit, because the power is too low. For stereo operation, and certainly as a surround receiver of Yamaha's in this price range is certainly an instrument which should certainly include in the considerations.
