Incidentally, I have not found a review in which this installation was made under Windows 8.1. I can say here: it works under Windows 8.1 !! In my printers that are now accessible as a network printer from any Windows application, it is a color laser OKI CD331n and MFP Brother DCP 8070D, both connected via USB 2.0. For scanning, you need the D-LINK software PS-Link. This works without any problems with my MFP.
But there are two restrictions that I'd like to share and why I may depart 1 star in my rating:
1. The PS-Link software does not work on my Windows 8.1 64 bit system. You can not even install and there is an error message "Error code -6001". In an answer to my question at the D-LINK Support I am still waiting.
2. There is no PS-Link software for MAC OS. So I can from my Mac, although problems over, for example, the Bonjour protocol to set up the printer and use it as a printer, but it is the MFP does not scan. In an answer to my question at the D-LINK Support I am still waiting.
Overall, I am very satisfied and have a reliable and well-designed device that I can recommend to buy.

The response from the D-Link Support came immediately: Indeed DS-Link does not work in Windows 64-bit systems and the software does not exist for Mac OS. Pity!
Have set up in the meantime also print via Internet using a VPN connection. Setting up the printer with Port 631 was the easiest part. The establishment of VPN and the opening of the ports in the router and firewall was already complicated. BUT: It works !!
A really good machine !! My Recommendation !!
Did then but, forgive despite the above limitations 5 stars because everything really works great!
