Bought one year ago, used a late 2012 macbook pro.
I made a clone of my old hard drive by putting it in a SSHD sata box. No problem then restart my mac with this new record.
I hesitated with a 500gb SSD, but I thought it was very expensive. Eventually I fell for this hybrid disc, whose performance is amazing to say the least. In comparison to my pc on which I have a 256GB SSD, latency launch programs is almost as low.
My mac is started in less than 20 seconds, and programs launch almost instantly.
For a price of around a hundred euros, it is a very good value compared to SSDs.
