My son took his first steps and is at the coffee table or TV stand with glass rim with sharp corners, stack height to his face, it was essential. He has already hit several times over, he just continued to play as if nothing had happened, so I think it's effective. It's easy to set up, and for now despite it're used to recover and keep from falling (it's thick and it's a small ledge easy to grip, it puts almost everything weight above) it did not take off (1 month of use for now). Remains to be seen what this will give when to remove it! It is not very aesthetic, although I've seen worse in those with large industrial black moss (at least here we have colors that can marry our inner). Do not attach the adhesive near the edge because the crumbs and dust will stick to it and it's not fun to clean. The big negative which earned a star less, the price seems very excessive for simple pieces of foam.
