After extensive testing I can say that the "MAGLITE MAG-TAC Plain Bezel LED Flashlight" is my requirements.
The only ca.13.3 cm long torch is, thanks to the ribbing, very comfortable to hold, even if you have gloves on. The retaining clip is very well designed. Due to its shape, it can be without Hold or bend, just insert. Whether belt, pocket, waistband etc. it will simply super.
In other flashlights the clips often do not last, or you have to fumble around with both hands until it is properly seated.
The power button is at the beginning a little unusual. If you press it, the light is only as long as you hold it down. Only through a double it stays on. With a triple-click, it lights up with reduced luminosity, I guess so with about 130 lumens.
The advantage of the power switch is that a permanent, accidental activation is almost impossible. First it is a little deeper and secondly you have already press a little so that the button is activated.
The probability that an item accidentally and strong enough presses the power button is very low. Should it happen once, the lamp was lit only as long as the pressure continues.
Processing of MAG-TAC is very good. The batteries are easy to remove and in operation it is not very warm. I have, with a thermal camera, a temperature of max. 38 degrees, measured at all accessible parts.
But now the main function, the luminosity!
The MAG-TAC is really nice light with 310 lumens. The light color is a pleasant LED White, with a slight blue tinge. I myself am a bit spoiled and owned by an LED Lenzer P7 and an HP11 Fenix (head lamp).
The MAG-TAC can provide through their illumination and brightness both lamps clearly in the shade.
At first I was a little surprised that the MAG TAC has no focus, but the first test in the dark, it was clear that she does not need that.
The MAG-TAC has both simultaneously and that is really great.
At a distance of 2 meters, the MAG-TAC has a round illumination of about 1.7 meters in diameter. At the same time the center is about 25 cm high point which is extremely bright. Thus, focusing is completely eliminated.
Here are two other values:
3 meters distance: 2.8 meters illumination, 40 cm Focus
8 meters distance: 8 meters illumination, 110 cm Focus
The MAG-TAC lights also loose up to 130 meters wide and will still be light enough so that I could see a gray cat in the grass.
Thanks to the two CR 123A 3V Lithium the MAG TAC also lights up to 4 hours at full power.
In P7, with 4 AAA batteries, the maximum brightness falls to 1 'already rapidly.
When Fenix HP11 I come with 4 AA batteries at least to more than 2 hours.
Accordingly, the CR 123A 3V lithium batteries, despite a higher purchase price, calculated on the hours of operation, convenient.
The only drawback is that you can not buy the CR 123A in any store. Here you should have enough batteries, buy before you start.
My Conclusion:
Just great and I, there is a strong buy recommendation!
Another tip for people looking for a flashlight, which is useful for self-defense.
The MAG-TAC Crown Bezel, is almost identical with the MAG-TAC Plain Bezel, but she has instead of dimming feature a strobe function. Due to the extremely bright light flashes can greatly dazzle with the MAG-TAC a possible attacker and disorient. The jagged edges of the panel, you get an effective strike weapon for defense.
