With this Abby is in a standard version - this allows documents with OCR to Word Scan or create searchable PDF's directly.
Positive are also the 4 buttons that allow scanning directly from the scanner can be launched.
It can be initiated such a "to-PDF" Scan for example with the Scan to PDF button.
Now you can scan with the green (main and Power) page by page and create at the end with a renewed push the PDF button the complete PDF with all the scanned pages.
It can be created (eg scanning to a specific directory in the format with the quality) for these buttons also own profiles.
However, I had a problem with the initial use of the keys.
It was always with one keystroke to a window where I had to confirm the program to be open now.
But this can easily fix (Win 7 - similar in Vista):
In the Control Panel, select Hardware and Sound> Devices and Printers Right click on the scanner and then scan properties.
Now may be the Events tab for each button set which program you want to open.
Here you must select Epson Event Manager.
The keys also need a slightly different long and strong pressure - not bad, but the key here differ just slightly.
In A one can only very short and weak press and another needed a slightly longer and stronger pressure.
But these are so far the only drawbacks.
Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the scanner.
