I have the Walimex 500mm 1 me: 8.0 ordered because I 300mm (70-300 lens) are not enough for some moon photos. At first I was very skeptical: 129 Euro incl T2 MFT Adapter which can be nothing. (By comparison, a Sigma 150-500mm lens is about 1,200 euros). The Walimex arrived, Moon was there ;-) so on it went. The lens is very well made, the adapter / lens is perfect. Nothing hooked. Setting manually: Iris and Focus effected on the lens (very pleasant Torque: not too heavy, not too light, perfect "path length" about not skip the focal point), exposure time is set in the mode M at the camera. I have photographed with an Olympus OMD EM-10. For the first tests I have simply times freehand draufgehalten to the moon: 1/400 sec, ISO 800, shutter 8. In order to imagine the situation can: The moon was crescent-shaped as big as my thumb nail; with the objective he was Full Frame on the Photo! Genial! And the best: Even freehand photos were sharp crack. (Note:. See photo Notes The photo is edited, not even circumcised). However, because the lens comes with tripod mount, it fits well on any column, which certainly makes it easier for beginners to use. With stand the recordings a bit appeared even more sharply, owing to the fact that the moon is indeed moving in the sky (you should not believe how fast!) And you can shorten the exposure time with tripod. Critical to note there is only that one of more than 100% view at the edges of the moon light CAs discovered. However, the appropriate software easily gets away. And in normal view they do not fall on. In short, strong buy recommendation, especially at the price! The Buy recommendation I would particularly express, if you have a camera with built-in Body Image Stabilization. To consider is whether a 129 euros for are "Only Moon Photos" worth. Although you can use the lens for "Erdaufnahmen", but since it takes some time to adjust, the object must not move in time as possible.
