The Simple is to learn only able to the basic functions of the TV and the advanced features of the satellite. There is no switch (or Mode Select) to switch from TV to satellite and vice versa, so as to control almost all functions of the respective device.
How it works: You first learn the functions of the satellite receiver, either through direct or code entry. Next, the features of the TV can be trained, also offer direct-dial or code. Now comes the crux: Only the basic functions of the TV taught: on / off, volume up / down, Mute, AV. Not more !!!
Now you have only to keep the advantage of a remote control in hand, with which you can easily switch the TV channels and the most important additional functions of the SAT, while the volume and source selection of the TV. With the two on / off buttons, both devices can be switched independently or off.
If you do not like the assignment of the keys, or some important features are not available, you can copy these with the function "Copy" from its old FB. This worked very well for me and was made fairly quickly.
Use and feel: The keys are arranged very intuitive. Even in dark rooms can feel the keys wonderful. The volume buttons and the directional pad are also chrome-colored framed so that they are clearly visible even in the dim light. The keys are made of smooth hard rubber, the pressure point is fairly crisp. A little too crispy, but that is certainly a matter of taste. The housing is made of brushed Hartplasik the Simple, but very solid. I think the material-quality than my Philips FB. A nice gimmick is the hard rubber pads on the bottom and on the border of the Simple. This is even smoother this in hand and should not be damaged even if involuntary flights. The transmission power and the angle of radiation are very good, no matter which way you hold the Simple.
A star but I have to pull off. The description is not clear that it is not in the Simple 2 a classic Universal FB, with which you can control both devices completely. In addition, the printed manual is written incomprehensible and contains errors that can still be a bit confusing.
I wanted to give back the Simple really, but I am now glad that I kept it. The original FBs are in the closet, and if I need to change something to the picture settings or make a channel scan, I'll take this. As a simple zapper under the ceiling or in a dark room the Simple 2 is a strong buy recommendation!
