have ordered this infrared receiver because I wanted to hide the satellite receiver in the cabinet. The receiver detects the remote control signals without any problems and can be readily attach to inconspicuous places. Only the cable might like to be a bit longer, an extension with other plugs / cables is not possible, because the connector has a 1.2mm jack and there is not this as an extension.
