Looking for a universal audio playback device I hear about this product from Philips. CD / MP3 / FM / DAB + and even Bluetooth - the first sounds good. The performance is fair, given as 4W RMS. Years ago PMPO was announced with tremendous Watt information that then but - if at all - represented only short-term peak values. So I'm interested to see whether it is hidden behind this inconspicuous device with the charm between MyFirst something and a clock radio in the late seventies what you are. In the box there is just quite simply the AZ330T, a power cord (AC adapter is commendably in the device installed) as well as a Quick Start Guide, which I will not read only once. So a simple device must, even without explanatory words funktionieren.OK - left is only a small slide switch to switch between the various sound sources. Nix electronically via the display or even with remote control. So choose FM and no station name, frequency, etc. in the display. Therefore located on the right side only a rotating wheel and a small hole through which you can look back on a display MHz. Is actually tuned here still analogue with a variable capacitor? Certainly no trace of the DAB + capability variously found on the net. I did not expect to find in an actual device yet so antiquated technology. The discriminatory power I have here in the North German lowland little problems, but the vote already requires of closely-spaced stations a lot of feeling in the right index finger. Internally generated MP3 CDs, it should be able to also play. So quickly brought the favorite collection of the car and loaded. The plastic flap on the top of the unit mechanically open and closed by hand. The LCD display is only one number / title number again. Albums can be at least also select a number. So here much flying blind is announced. The USB connection works similarly as already described for MP3 CDs. Unfortunately, the connection to any 5V, on at least a smartphone would be loaded. Next try - Bluetooth. A delicate blue light flashes and the AZ330T is detected immediately by phone. Without access code you can start. Even in later experiments a known device is connected immediately (within seconds) - very nice! And the sound? Unfortunately modest. It sounds like what it looks like. Delicate, fragile and plastic - but at low volume without clinking and clanking. For audiobooks, podcasts, news quite ok, but the music you listen to is rather a torment. I now do not expect Boombox with rich bass and crisp treble, however, disappointed me a bit. Oh, batteries may be - to use on the bottom - for mobile use. DC 6 pieces in today ungebräuchlichen size UM2 (Baby). And no, no battery and no charging function.
I miss a contemporary electronics. FM PLL tuning, RDS and an alphanumeric display would extremely enhance a mid-range device and then inserted as a waste product in the chip even a clock. OK - the sound you have to accept well; for the operation is intuitive even without instructions. Especially the Bluetooth connection is working reliably and fix. USB flash drives are quickly filled with music on the computer and then be played here. Less a device for the living room, but intended for hobby room, child's room or garage readily usable.
