The Sony 50mm 1.8 SAM is a very light, built of plastic lens! The image quality and sharpness is better than with a kit lens. The AF is quick and accurate on my Sony A550 and the A77. I got the combination A550 and Sony 50mm 1.8 SAM heufig to celebrate with where I just simply want to make a few snapshots. But the glass is absolutely sufficient! For all other events and photo shoots the A77 come with me with high-quality lenses for use.
