defects:
- Average dive at full aperture
- A slight lack in sharpness dhomogénéité between center and full aperture edge
- An opening to 1.7 would have been better (but probably more heavy, bulky and expensive)
- It's still plastic: we did not finish or the fluidity of old Pentax lenses A or M or metal Limited, obviously
- Lack of indications of MAP distance and depth of field. Farewell hyperfocal (or so the judge, which pretty walk after calculating hyperfocal with free smartphone app).
This is one of my two favorite targets. The other is the 12-24 F / 4 (optically monstrous and offering an angle of view that I love, but heavy and bulky) I take the 35 as soon as I want to travel light.
I also have an FA-50 F / 1.7 and a Tamron Di 90 F / 2.8 Macro who both dives sick. Plus some old targets M or A and some M42.
The DA-35 is not a killer and definitely not become a reference. But it is a very nice goal, pleasant to use, offering excellent value & services / great price and allows for good photos.
Unlike other reviews, I can not find his monstrous bitten (beside including the other three objectives that I mentioned), but the dive is not for me the alpha and omega of this photo and lens offers a nice contrast in color rendering and bokeh quite satisfactory, which is at least as important.
If you do not want to put 300 to 500 in a qualitative objective to greater openness, I highly recommend it.
