Following advance:
I want the TV function is not with any of the programs verschd. Manufacturers use - for me it comes down to the integration in Windows Media Center. Thus, I have not tested the WinTV V7 software.
My system:
I have installed a Quad Core Q6400 with 4GB DDR RAM on an Asus board with Intel chipset.
The operating system I use Windows 8 Professional with the MCE / MCP (Media Center Pack) Upgrade.
Driver Installation:
The installation of the new driver has heruntergelandenen properly folded (online only had the small driver version used thus inserting the CD was not necessary).
Installation DVB-Link:
The installation of DVB-Link was also run without problems. Only annoying is the constant warning from Windows, because this program needs to be run in Administrator mode.
DVB-Link device:
The decor was enormously complicated - but after reading the documentation, I am then come on. (Documentation is not particularly good, but helpful. It would be better also to adapt the document, so that the differences between the use of DVB-S systems and DVB-C systems better seen.
I (non-contiguous) invested about 12 hours of my time - but could not find any stations.
Even his own creating a transponder-XML file with the transponder list of our cable provider was completely unsuccessful).
Thus, I have packed the unit again and send it back.
My conclusion:
In future, I will stay away from the Hauppauge products. It is advertised with Media Center support (including Windows 8), but this definitely is not the case.
The use of DVB-Link is not really the way to a great regular HDTV recorder.
There seems to be probably better products (also significantly more cost-intensive) on the market that come along with a native support for MCE. So I will try the next solution for Digital Devices 159 Euro.
