The LG with its dimensions of 34 inches is a compelling and very nice device and can easily replace a dual monitor configuration. Under Windows 8.1 without any problems, to use the maximum resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels (despite Chipset Graphics my Intel processor). On a Mac mini (Late 2012) under Mac OS X Yosemite (connected via Thunderbolt cable), however it is not possible to adjust these resolution, which was formerly possible under the OS X previous version. Therefore remain two possibilities: either the smaller resolution of 2560x1200 pixels to accept under Yosemite or downgrade to the previous version, OS X, which you can then also use 3440x1440. Very sad, that is probably attributable primarily Apple and not the LED monitor from LG. Perhaps Apple still has some understanding and builds it back into Yosemite.
The unit as such makes an excellent, noble impression and produces a great broad picture that you no longer want to do without after a short time. The variety of inputs (among other Thunderbolt) is convincing and as the only gripe I would have to install the OSD. This works quite well, but is a bit getting used to because of the joystick control. I would have liked a faster way to get access to the input selector.
Nevertheless, a very nice device, highly recommended!
Updated on 20/03/2015 I read yesterday that the max. Screen resolution should now returns to the Mac mini (Late 2012) with Yosemite (from 10.10.2) function. This I can only confirm that. No stress, it needs to be patched nothing. Everything works out of the box :-)
