The casing is in glossy black plastic. It keeps all the fingerprints and especially, is very thick: 18mm! Another drive, including USB 2 it, I own is not thicker than 12mm. The difference is huge, and with this thickness, it easily fits in a pocket.
That said, when you buy a disc, it is to store data, and there, it's disappointing.
- USB transfer rate 2 of my other disk (noname box arrived directly from China.): 32 MB / s This is good.
- USB transfer rate 3 of the Western: 55 to 60 MB / s, very little for this interface, we expect 90 to 100 MB / s.
- USB transfer rate of 2 Western: about 31 MB / s is equivalent to my Chinese case.
To conclude, this album disappoints me as a whole. Fortunately, I did not intend it to make regular copies, but to carry my data, most of which remains on the disk. If you need speed, go your way. If only the available matter to you, go ahead, no less: 75.89 sold by Amazon, but there is more to the price ...
EDIT: so that the disc is recognized by my DVD player, I reformatted to FAT32. And then, surprise: the transfer rate varies between 85 and 100 MB / s Why, I do not know, but it is now a normal copy speed for USB 3. Note 2 thus passes. 4 stars because its thickness and any plastic part are not worthy of the brand. Know before you buy.
