Each chapter begins with an introduction, brief historical notes and looking at strategic and tactical main motives of the variant. Then follow the recommended variants that are presented on the basis of sample batches. All meaningful deviations from Black are presented in detail. At the end of each chapter an overview is in short form with evaluation of each Abspiele so that you have the most important information at a glance present. In the main variants evaluation is absolutely critical: The author does not promise that you can bring out a white advantage in the particularly critical variants.
The book is intended for advanced and those who want to be there (I guess DWZ 1600-2200), and is in direct competition with the first time in 2004 published "Experts vs. the Sicilian", of which there is even a German edition ("experts vs. Sicilian "). The advantages of "Dismantling the Sicilian" are that the presented variants from the pen of a single author originate and the systems approach has therefore been taken into account better in the selection of variants. Moreover, it is of course current.
The philosophy of the author is clear: Anyone who plays 1.e4, should definitely be in his repertoire have an open Sicilians (or perhaps better to switch to 1.d4). The big plus of this book is that it presents the entire cosmos of the open Sicilian at a high level, as well as learning economic sense. Conclusion: Who still plays as White players not open Sicilians or want to try new variations, which is very well served by this book. Black players who are looking for the most dangerous for White variants get here (English language course, always assuming) a fast and reliable overview.
