After some searching, I came across the ODYS COSMO. There were no other buyers reviews on Amazon, but overall seemed to me to be a very reasonable ODYS manufacturer if you read the reviews of other devices of ODYS. Okay, pudding is in the - so ordered quickly.
After a day with the device, I regret to make a very durchwachsenes judgment:
First Impression
Wow! Very good indeed. In the box there is a tablet with quality appearance, with slightly matt black frame around a tipped with scratch protection film screen. The unit fits comfortably in your hand, I personally like the slightly larger weight of (nachgemessenen) 666 grams (no joke) very well. Pressing the power button, and I note that the unit is almost fully charged - so it can start immediately. Prima.
In addition, there are a power supply, two different micro USB to USB adapter, a (brief) instructions and a bag (more like a bag, you have to remove the tablet in order to utilize it) in the box. On the box a QR Code is also displayed, which is a help for more information with me but unfortunately (as of 17.01.2012) into Nirvana's. But that's small stuff and will surely change soon.
Overall, in my view, four out of five stars when first impression - because even find Fingerabrdrücke on display and present on the back of slight scratches. Whether these things can happen due to production or I received a returned goods I can not judge. Otherwise it would have been five stars for the first impression.
The first few hours
The display acts despite the high resolution for me a little "mushy", so I can live very well in the price. In addition, the screen responds very quickly and sufficiently sensitive to touches, the Kallibrierung seems already very successful factory. So here's a good to very good.
Less good, I find that at vertical use the top and bottom 15% (estimated not measured) of the screen is not (!) Can be used to store icons. I know of other androids (but only mobiles) not so ...
The wireless connection worked well on a Fritz box, but the received power is really weak: Already a room further loses the COSMO frequently contact (although eg Phillips wireless radios even work well on other floors), which for me use as "surf board" but greatly restricts the house. So here only a "satisfactory".
With a little tweak (also for non-techies like me feasible) to get in the Official Market Place and there are a all apps - short: very good.
BUT: Every few minutes I get a warning about "low memory" - with 1 GB? Short the (preinstalled) ES Task Manager starts, and here then (under the menu item "About Phone") the surprise: Internal Storage Total 504 MB (? Should it not be 1 GB) Memory Total 781 MB (Should not that not 4GB be?). And as a final surprise - the processor clock speed is 1GHz (? Should not be 1.2 GHz) From the manual learn I still that the (advertised on the package) is support for 32GB SD cards not given: "We recommend that only SD - or SDHC cards up to 16 GB [...] to use ".. A call to the hotline did not clarify "... you send an email to the marketing, thank you." Well, I would say: zero stars for customer information, zero stars for product specification and (probably, maybe even read the Task Manager from the data incorrectly) zero star for misleading the customer. Total: (at least according to the information available to me) defective!
The last hours
After about four hours appear on the display marked defective pixels form durchgängier white lines across the screen, a reboot or reset to factory settings did not help. Review: Terrible.
The next few hours
I hope that I have received a "Monday Model" with hardware defects (wireless, storage, display), I have chosen a replacement from Amazon and (initially) not a refund. Rein in principle (and the first appearance of the device) ago I find the COSMO namely for the price a very successful device from which I just wish that I like but :-) Should also the exchange model with false data referencing and / have or display errors, so I'll probably either do without a heavy heart on a tablet - or have to spend more money. We will see, I will adjust this review accordingly :-)

As you can read in the comments section, I have now received a replacement device (thanks to Amazon - which was almost the speed of light :-)), which made an impeccable first impression - full marks this time. The storage issue was extensively explained by the supplier (s. Comments), only the WLAN remains somewhat weak. But for the price I can now hardly imagine something better, even if I did (just because of the wireless weakness) now but decided on another device - but had to spend significantly more ...
Small note: who has an Internet Flat for his cell phone, can the Cosmo well by tethering to the network - then the wireless performance is adequate (I've tried with a HTC Desire S from short - but because I have no flat, came this solution for me not in question).
